A comforting Colombian breakfast made with our Classic White Corn Arepa, simple ingredients, and homemade hogao.
🫓 How to Cook Your Classic Arepa
- Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Place the frozen arepa directly in the pan. No need to thaw.
- Cook for 8–10 minutes on the first side, until golden and crispy.
- Flip and cook for another 7–9 minutes.
- Slice open, add your fillings, and enjoy.

🧈 Ingredients — 1 serving
- 🫓 1 The Daily Arepa Classic White Corn Arepa
- 🥚 2 eggs
- 🧈 1 tablespoon butter
- 🧀 ¼ cup crumbled queso fresco (or feta)
- 🍅 2 tablespoons hogao
🍅 Easy Hogao
- 🧅 Chopped onion
- 🍅 Diced tomato
- A little vegetable oil
- Salt
In a small pan, sauté the chopped onion and diced tomato with a little oil and salt until they become a soft, flavorful sauce, about 8–10 minutes.

- Cook the frozen arepa using the instructions above.
- Prepare the hogao until the onion and tomato become a soft sauce.
- Scramble the eggs.
- Slice the warm arepa open and spread the butter inside.
- Fill with scrambled eggs, hogao, and crumbled cheese.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
